久米平内堂（くめのへいないどう）
久米平内は江戸時代前期の武士。『武江年表』によると、天和3年（1683）に没したとされるが、その生涯については諸説あり明らかではない。
平内堂には次のような伝承がある。平内は剣術に秀でており、多くの人をあやめてきた。後年、その供養のために、仁王坐禅の法を修業し、浅草寺内の金剛院に住んで禅に打ちこんだという。臨終にのぞみ自らの姿を石に刻ませ、多くの人に踏んでもらうことによって、犯した罪を償うために、この像を人通りの多い仁王門付近に埋めたと伝える。
その後、石像はお堂に納められたという。「踏付け」が「文付け」に転じ、願文をお堂に納めると願い事が叶うとされ、江戸時代中期以降、とくに縁結びの神として庶民の信仰を集めた。
平内堂は、昭和20年（1945）3月の戦災で焼失した。現在のお堂は昭和53年（1978）10月に浅草寺開創1350年記念として再建されたものである。

Kume-no-Hinai-do
Kume no Heinai was a samurai in the early Edo period (17th century);he is said to have passed away in 1683,but there are many stories about his life and not many facts are known for certain.
According to oral tradition,Heinai excelled in Kenjutsu,the martial art of swordfightinf,and he killed many people over the years.Later in his life,he is said to have lived in the Kongo-in Temple in Senso-ji Temple,wherehe devoted himself to Zen- Buddhism and held religious services in honor of the souls of the people he killed.
It is said that,just before his death,he ordered his followeres to carve his fiture on a stone and bury it near Nio-mon (Deva gate),one of the busy distreicts of the city.He wanted his statue be stepped on by as many people as possible in order to expiate the crimes he had committed in life.Afterward,the stone statue was eventually stored in this temple.
From the middle of the Edo period,this temple was worshipped by the general public as a deity of marriage.
Kume-no-Heinai-do was burned down during the ravages of World Wara Ⅱ in March 1945.The current temple was rebuilt in October 1978.
